Gubernatorial aspirants of the APC in Rivers State invited to a crucial meeting called Friday night in the federal capital, Abuja, have reportedly left the venue.
They left after making an initial appearance before a committee of ‘wise men’ charged with the responsibility of grilling them, according to what we have gleaned from informed sources within the party.
But there are however hints that committee members were still lurked in behind closed doors in a meeting of their own as at the time of this report.

No one is sure when they will rise from their deliberations or what they will come up with at the end of the day.
Anxiety has been mounting since news of the meeting initiated by the APC leadership broke early in the day.
Already, names are being dropped in the parallel information market. Insiders say those speculative accounts about the emergence of a gubernatorial candidate are not true.
At least 10 aspirants are in the race and none among them, until the meeting was called, has made any move to withdraw from the race.

They include Dawari George, Dakuku Peterside, Sokonte Davies, Tonye Cole, Tonye Prince will and Biokpomabo Awara.
Others are Francis Ebenezer Ada, Mina Tende, Ojukaye Flag Amachree and Ibinabo Michael West.

There is no indication, based on feelers received thus far, that any meaningful agreement was reached with, or among aspirants who filed out Friday night after an encounter with members of the committee set up by the Rivers leadership to interface with them.

The Port Harcourt Telegraph gathered members of the committee who did not leave after the aspirants departed still met, apparently to set the agenda for another meeting which may take place with the aspirants on Saturday.
