Wait for me in January, Wike tells Atiku, others

Opponents in the habit of relentlessly attacking the Rivers strongman and a prominent leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, Governor Nyesom Wike have been asked not to waste their saliva.
This is because the campaign trail will provide an appropriate platform for all who want to settle political scores.
The Rivers Governor who took the stage Thursday to respond to some of his critics while commissioning the Rumukwurusi-Eligbam flyover revealed he would start campaigning for his preferred candidates in January.
“So those of you appearing on television, abusing me”, Governor Wike remarked, “don’t waste your saliva again; January shall come.”
“By January next year”, the Rivers Governor revealed, “I will campaign among my people to see whom they would vote for.”

“So all of you who have been in suspense, who have been saying all kinds of things and abusing me, wait, January has come.
Apparently referring to attack dogs, recruited by the PDP Presidential candidate, particularly those who claim to own “50 shoes and 50 wristwatches”, Wike said Nigerians across the country would have ample time to hear him respond.
“Not only will I tell them where they should vote, I will move from state to state”, Wike declared.
It was however the first time since efforts to secure the removal of Iyorchia Ayu from office as National Chairman of the PDP that the Governor would hint he may not be supporting Atiku.
Wike said he would “tell them why they should vote for the people we said they should vote for. Nothing will happen.”
Turning attention to the commissioning of the Rumukwurusi – Eligbam Flyover, Wike said that the construction of the project was achieved under one year.
He stated that he hoped that his successor in office would not only pursue developmental issues with the same zeal that he has, but would also use firms like Julius Berger and MCC to execute quality projects.

Wike seized the chance to campaign for Siminalayi Fubara, the incoming Governor as well as the candidates of the Rivers East Senatorial District.
Thus far, Wike has not disclosed who his preferred candidate would be. Somehow, the general consensus is that Wike might choose between Peter Obi and Bola Tinubu.
Thursday, Wike fulfilled his promise to provide logistics for the Labour Party presidential candidate who was in Port Harcourt on a campaign mission.
Obi still leads other candidates in credible polls conducted nationwide by ANAP.
