G5 Governors standing together in Ibadan at the flag off of Governor Seyi Makinde’s second tenure campaign.

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has put down claims suggesting that leaders of the G5 are at war with one another.

Speaking in Ibadan at the flag off of the gubernatorial campaign  of Governor Seyi Makinde, Ortom said Nigerians should disregard misleading accounts on social media which suggest that there are cracks in the G5.

He said the G5 is solidly intact and assured Nigerians that the group would make known its position on who to support in the presidential race.

Ortom urged the Oyo people to vote massively for Governor Makinde, saying he has distinguished himself through excellent service delivery.

Also speaking, Governor Nyesom Wike described Governor Makinde as a trusted, tested and dependable leader who has delivered on his mandate.

He urged other candidates in the race to withdraw and throw their support behind Makinde, saying it is overtly clear that the PDP is the dominant party in Oyo State.

Wike hinted that the G5 is supporting all party candidates except the presidential flagbearer.

He added that Makinde who has well during his first tenure would take Oyo State to higher level of development if given a fresh mandate by the people.

Meanwhile, Governor Seyi Makinde has assured the people of Oyo State of his determination to enhance the rapid development of the State if given a second tenure.

Makinde observed while addressing the people that he kept his promises in the education, raised the State’s internally generated revenue, constructed roads and provided other forms of infrastructure.

The Telegraph reports that the venue of the rally was filled to the brim by enthusiastic party supporters.

Our correspondent says there was no sign of pro-Atiku  marchers who had vowed to take to the streets in support of the PDP presidential candidate who is at loggerheads with the G5.

But we have heard through other sources that although a small crowd of Atiku supporters showed up, they did not come near the venue of the Makinde rally.
