Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo recuses self as hearing begins

The chairman of the House Committee investigating the activities of the NDDC, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has recused himself from presiding over today’s hearing.

Tunji-Ojo who denied he is on a revenge mission said he was stepping aside and appealed to his colleagues who may be pained by his decision to understand the basis for his action.

The Acting Managing Director, Profesdir Pondei last week refused to testify before the House Committee,  saying it was improper for  the Chairman who has been accused of acts of impropriety to preside over the session.

The Deputy Chairman of the Committee who offered the opening prayer is at this time presiding.

Senator Godswill Akpabio, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs and Professir Pondeil, Acting Managing Director are already at the National Assembly.
