The Okoro – nu – Odo overhead bridge built by the Wike administration has been commissioned.
The commissioning ceremony was performed by the former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke.
Duke who was accompanied by his wife, Onari, lauded the Governor for delivering on his promises.
Describing the Rivers governor as his friend, Duke said that there was no doubt in his mind that Wike whom he credited with sterling leadership qualities would leave the Rivers State better than he found it.
Earlier, Governor Nyesom Wike who swore to deal ruthlessly with persons that have plans to turn the precinct of the flyover into a trading point described the PDP as a party which keeps its pledges.
He recalled that there were people who expressed doubts that Julius Berger which handled the project could deliver the projects within 16 months.
But he said that he was glad that while the company had delivered the Rebisi Flyover and the Okoro-Nu-Odo Flyover, the Rumuogba Flyover would be commissioned on Tuesday.
He challenged the APC which is planning to build a deep seaport, rail varsity, railway park and the Port – Maiduguri rail line to deliver on its promises, saying there can be no excuse for non performance.
Already, the ground breaking ceremony marking the take-off of the Port Harcourt – Maiduguri Rail Line would will take place next week.
