It is no longer a secret that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State who has persistently denied nursing a presidential ambition would be contesting higher office come 2023.
Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabui Kwankwaso let the cat out of the bag while speaking during the commissioning of the Rumuogba Flyover in Port Harcourt.

Kwankwaso who said he was elated by what he described as Wike’s outstanding strides in office disclosed that the Rivers governor whom he respects would be elevated to “higher office” when the time comes.

There were cheers from the excited crowd as Kwankwaso drove his message home, saying the North would back him when he steps into the ring.

It is the first time that any prominent Nigerian politician, particularly those who are gravitating in the direction of the Rivers governor, would be credited with such a remark in the open.

But it was however, proof that the sudden appearance of posters depicting Governor Wike as a presidential aspirant may have been intended to send the appropriate message to all Nigerians.
