Hon.  Igo Aguma has hurriedly packed his bag and checked out of the All Progressives Congress APC.

Aguma said in a statement issued by Livingstone Wechie that he could no longer remain a member of the APC.

The Supreme Court Friday dismissed claims filed by Rt Hon Igo Aguma who has been parading as the authentic Chairman of the APC in Rivers State.

The Apex Court which upheld the ruling of the Court of Appeal held that the lower court presided over by Justice Omereji erred irreparably in law when it chose to confer the leadership of the APC in Rivers State on Hon. Igo Aguma.

The Court  presided over by Amina Adamu Augie,. JSC, upheld the right of the National Secretariat of the APC to appoint members of the caretaker Committee, saying the cases had jurisductional flaws.

Across the Rivers State members of the APC have broken into jubilation, with  most of them saying justice has been done.

“Today the Supreme Court finally ended all arguments relating to who the aithentic Chairman of the Rivers Caretaker Committee is”, the Spokesman of the APC, Chief Ogbonna Nwuke, Spokesman of the APC noted in his reaction.

“It is now clear that Rt. Hon. Igo Aguma was a meddlesome tombo fly who had no right, under whatever guise, to challenge the right of the party to choose leaders of its Caretaker Committee.

“Based on the ruling, Isaac Ogbobula is the authentic Chairman. Now that the obstacles placed on the way of the Rivers APC have been removed, we want to thank the justices of the Supreme Court for their wisdom and upright decision.

“The Rivers people are elated by the ruling of the Apex Court. The decision has lifted the veil and put all who were behind the action to destabilise the APC to shame.

“We thank our Leader, Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi for his sterling leadership qualities and commend all those who fought on the side of truth. We cannot thank them enough.

“Now that the storm is over, we wish to state categorically that our doors are open to receive all who believe in the mission of the APC.

Faced with the defeat of the matter at the Apex Court  the APC said, :we shall not shut the door in the faces of all those who embraced the Magnus Abe led team” especially “they are willing to be team players.”

“We have learnt that Igo Aguma has withdrawn his membership of the party, following the crushing defeat that he suffered at the Supreme Court.  Let us say that the APC wishes him well in his future endeavours.
