Burkina Faso has become the first African side to cruise into the quarter final stage of the African Cup of Nations.

The Burkinabes qualified via penalty shoot out which ended 7 – 6 in their favour.

Scores after 90 minutes was Burkina Faso 1, Gabon 1.

The Burkinabes who led with a lone goal up to the 89th minute came back in the first half of
extra time to score what could have been the clincher, but their celebration was shut lived.

After 30 minutes extra time, the encounter was decided through penalties.

Gabon may have fought well, but mother luck was not on their side. They would be leaving Cameron for home any moment from now.
