So far, Atiku one of the frontline candidates who contested on the platform of the PDP is yet to have a foothold as INEC announces LGA results in Rivers State.
Tinubu who allegedly enjoys the support of the PDP in Rivers is leading with 18, 568 votes while Peter Obi of Labour Party (LP) is placed second with 7,212 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party’s flagbearer Atiku Abubakar is in third place with 5,630.
According to INEC, The APC flagbearer won Tai and Opobo/Nkoro while Obi took Ahoada West.
Results from two LGAs were stepped down Sunday evening to enable electoral officials reconcile discrepancies in the figures that were to be announced at the State collation centre
Monday morning, collation of results from the remaining 20 Local Government Areas of Rivers State would continue.
Meanwhile results pouring in from Lagos show that Tinubu is ahead of Obi.
Obi has won in about three LGAs while Tinubu has won seven of the 10 LG results so far released.
Tinubu has equally swept Ekiti State, with some in Edo saying even when results have not been released that he may be running strongly in front as Governor Godwin Obaseki struggles to salvage something for the PDP.
