By PHC Telegraph
The Governor-elect of Abia State, Dr. Alex Oti who ran on the platform of the Labour Party has extended his hand of fellowship to the guber candidates of other political parties in the State.
Delivering his first address to Abians in Umuahia, Oti thanked his electors and invited those who ran against him to join in the task of rebuilding the state
Oti noted that the people of Abia who have been in shackles were on their way to liberation, saying the gates of hell has broken.
But the incoming governor assured that he will bear no grudge and disclosed while appealing for forgiveness from those he may have hurt along the line that he has forgiven all who have offended him..
He promised to work out a mechanism that would pave the way for the payment of pensions and gratuities, pledging to work for All Abians with resources belonging to Abians.
He spoke of the implementation of an urban renewal programme, the exploitation of the potentials of Aba as a business and trading post and the provision of basic infrastructure.
Earlier, INEC had declared the Obi-Ngwa result which had stalled the complete collation of Abia results.
Across Abia, among Abians living in the diaspora, there is great rejoicing, following the declaration of Oti as the next governor of his State.
Abia State, from the look of things, is the only State to be won by the Labour Party which fielded Peter Obi as its presidential candidate.
