NDDC: Ijaws Happy With Wike – Bolo Luka VIII

The chiefs and people of the Wakirike nation have expressed immense joy over the appointment of two illustrious sons of Ijaw land as top managers of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
They are Dr Samuel Ogbuku and Chief Boma Iyaye who are the Managing Director as well as the Executive Director, Finance and Administration respectively.
Speaking when a strong delegation of traditional rulers, chiefs and elders of Okrika paid a thank you visit to the FCT Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike, the Amayanabo of Bolo Kingdom, His Royal Highness, Acheseinimie Micah Frank, Bolo Luka VIII, said his people were elated by the choice of their son as NDDC’s EDFA.

“We’re here to appreciate you for what you’ve done for us”, the King remarked, “you can see that the entire Wakirike is fully represented here, including the political heavyweights in Wakirike nation.
“Among the 23 LGAs in Rivers State you chose a Wakirike son, an Ijaw son for the position of EDFA, NDDC.
“There are other very qualified persons across the state but you chose our own. We cannot thank you enough.”
The Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Chief Boma Iyaye, described the former governor of Rivers State as a man who keeps his promise.
“As far back as 2007”, Iyaye recalled, “you mentioned to me that you were going to ensure that I become the commissioner of sports in Rivers State and you made it happen.
Barrister Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, addressing members of the Okrika delegation.

“Today, I’m referred to as the Minister of Finance, Niger Delta. Your name is going to be on every chapter of my autobiography.
“For the first time in the history of NDDC, the MD and the EDFA are both Ijaw sons. You have every power and connection to say no, instead you even supported it.”
Also speaking, the member representing Okirika/Ogu-Bolo federal constituency, Hon Allison Igbiks Anderson noted, “We’re here to appreciate you and to assure you that the people of Wakirike nation are strongly behind you; politically whatever you want us to do is what we’re going to do.”

Among the traditional rulers from the Okrika nation who visited the Minister was the King of Okochiri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, King Ateke Tom.
