Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu says he is exceedingly pleased with the trail blazing performance of Super Eagles star, Victor Osimhen in the Serie A.
Reacting to the exploits of the Napoli hitman, the governor said Osimhen’s ouster of the goal scoring record set by George Weah has made Lagosians happy.
“So many stories begin in Lagos and it’s always a moment of pride for me to see young people from our city achieving great things”, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State wrote.
Victor Osimhen and team mates in celebration moodSanwo-Olu who took to Twitter to congratulate Victor Osimhen on the role he played in Napoli’s Cup winning victory in the Serie A said he was thrilled by the feat of the Nigerian footballer, particularly in edging out George Weah’s long standing goal scoring record.
“A big congratulations to Victor Osimhen @victorosimhen9 on blazing the trail in the Serie A goal scoring charts, leading your team to the league title as well as breaking George Weah’s record as the highest scoring African in the league.
“As someone who talks about his humble roots in Lagos and continues to give back in amazing ways” Sanwo-Olu noted, “we say keep flying the flag of Nigeria high with your impressive performances for Napoli.”
He said he looked forward to working together with Osimhen in order to take football in Lagos to greater heights.
