Odili Acknowledges Fubara As Political Leader in Rivers

By PHC Telegraph

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has been acknowledged by a former governor of Rivers State,Peter Odili as the undisputed political leader of the Rivers people.
Speaking during the commissioning of the Primary Healthcare Centre built by PAMO Foundation on Thursday at Ndomi  in the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local Government Area, Odili said those who are struggling with the Rivers Governor over the leader-ship of Rivers State are wasting their time.
Odili whose relationship with Barrister Nyesom Wike has been strained because of his support for Governor Fubara in the ongoing battle for the control of the State lauded the incumbent for defending Rivers interests.
Despite the distraction posed by Wike’s unbridled fight for power, Odili said Fubara has remained focused on his assignment.

The former number one citizen of the State asked Fubara not to overlook the fact that the state is strategic to the economic as well as the physical development of the country.

According to Odili, Nigeria catches cold any time that the Rivers State sneezes, pointing out that the state is strategically important to the nation’s advancement.

Fubara, Odili noted, has performed creditably in office within his first year, stressing that his resolve to focus on the well-being of law abiding Rivers people is remarkable.

Odili drew a parallel between Fubara’s administration and its federal counterpart, saying what Fubara is doing in Rivers State is in alignment with President Bola Tinubu’s agenda in the healthcare sector, especially against the backdrop of the recent launch of the Primary Healthcare Fellows scheme by the Federal Government.

Odili added that there is a strong need for the governor to partner with  the President in order to attract much needed federal government attention to the state.
