Chijioke Ihunwo, Chairman of the Youth Council of Nigeria who is a brother of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory has urged the international community as well as stakeholders in the Nigerian project to persuade President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to call his man to order.
Speaking Friday afternoon on an Arise Television Programme, “NEWSDAY”, the youth leader said that the former Governor, Barrister Nyesom Wike is using his position as the federal minister to stir unnecessary crisis and undermine the authority of the elected governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara.
Urging the President to quickly call his Minister to order, Ihunwo noted that the Ikwerre people whose sons occupied the Rivers Government House back to back for 16 years and five months were worried by Wike’s conduct.
The youth chairman said it is undeniably the turn of the Riverine people to govern the State and wondered why Wike who “does not forgive” is working round the clock to destabilize the peace and progress of Rivers people.
According to him, the consensus among Rivers people is that Governor Fubara should be allowed a free hand to serve out his tenure.
The youth leader said that as Wike’s brother, he is willing to go to Government House to pick up whatever it is the former governor who is fighting his successor could have forgotten there so that he can put a stop to his acts of political destabilization.
Ihunwo admonished Martins Amaewhule, a factional Speaker and son of Obio/Akpor not to allow himself to be used unduly to cause confusion and divide the State.
He said that whereas Amaewhule has been in the State House of Assembly for several years, he has nothing on ground to show to his constituents as positive evidence of his stewardship.

Governor Fubara had visited the Assembly Quarters Thursday to look at the state of facilities provided for state lawmakers.
An attempt by Wike loyalists to lock out the State Governor was however frustrated.
Fubara said afterwards that he had a right to visit the complex, if for anything, to see what he could do as governor for the benefit of the legislative institution and the Rivers people.
But Martins Amaewhule who is under pressure by another Obio/Akpor son in a rival party, urging lawmakers loyal to Wike to commence impeachment proceedings against the Governor fired back, accusing the Governor of acting in a dictatorial manner.
Who locked the gate in the face of the State’s number one citizen? Why? Was it really necessary?
These are questions that are being asked by concerned Rivers people as Wike and his supporters embark on a relentless battle to distort reality and frustrate the efforts of a legitimate government.
Most Rivers people shocked by the unfolding drama staged to curry media attention think that the attempt to lock out Fubara who visited the facility in broad daylight was uncivilised, disrespectful and unwarranted.
Said one observer, “It is partisanship taken too far. It is completely unacceptable. It is even more painful that these people are dropping the name of the President anywhere they go.
“The fact that security men who man the gate were nowhere to be seen when the Governor visited the quarters suggests, despite Amaewhule’s claims, that they may have been aware of his impending arrival.”
