Angry US Citizens Openly Disapprove Of Trump’s Tariffs
• Public opinion polls suggest his public rating is falling

Approximately 58% of Americans have disapproved of tariffs introduced by the current Trump administration. They say the US and its citizens are more likely to suffer as a result of the world war that is going on, on the economic front.
Across the globe, the decision by Trump to weaponise tariffs has occupied centre stage, thus forcing allies of the United States as well as foes alike to contemplate retaliatory measures.
Polls conducted in the US indicate that a great majority of Americans believe that tariffs would hurt US consumers.
The polls reveal that only 38% of US citizens think that new tariffs regimes initiated by President Donald Trump are likely to benefit the American consumer.
What this means is that at least 9% of US consumer may be undecided at this time. It also implies that most Americans are finding it difficult to support the position of Trump to implement protective tariffs that are rolling back most of the strides made towards globalisation.
Trump who reckons America has been short-changed over the years is not hiding his intention to encourage local production through the frustration of US bound imports via a massive imposition of tariffs.
Markets have. remained largely unpredictable since Trump came to office with major stock markets reeling in the face of a global economy that is yet to understand what America intends to achieve by raising tariffs.
However, most Americans think Trump’s rating in public is plumating as a result of new policies that are hurting US citizens and apparently isolating their country.
The thinking in US political circles is that President Trump is obviously dragging down the Republicans.
As things are polls conducted by Fox and New York Times show that the democrats may have a four-point lead going into the forthcoming midterm elections.
