Against the backdrop of growing public miscon-ceptions about the alleged antics of the All Progres-sives Congress which is being accused among other things of the destabilization of the opposition, its leaders are this evening expected to brief the media across the nation.
Until recently, only the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has been in the habit of holding regular media chats. But there are signs that the APC which at 8pm will host a media chat broadcast on major television channels has decided to borrow something from Wike whose performance as part of the Bola Tinubu government is being hailed.
According to information released on the APC’s official X handle, “The National Chairman, @nentawe1, and National Secretary, @DrSRJ_, of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will host a nationwide live media chat to address critical issues of national importance, including party direction, governance, and the future of Nigeria.”
It further added, “The live media chat will air on Channels Television (@channelstv), Arise News (@ARISEtv), and TVC News (@tvcnewsng).
Meanwhile, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress who walked into the studios of Arise Television Wednesday evening has taken a potshot at President Tinubu.
Atiku said on primetime that Tinubu had failed woefully to manage the affairs of the Nigerian nation, noting that he didn’t expect that of him.
He also singled out President Goodluck Jonathan for criticism, describing him as an inexperienced person who could not run the nation.
Strangely, Atiku who could not confirm if he would step down for a more popular person in the ADC after attempting the presidential race seven times made no reference during the chat to what many in and outside Nigeria see as the disastrous failings of northern leaders who had governed the country.
He however admitted that the period he served with President Olusegun Obasanjo represented Nigeria’s most memorable moments in history.
