Reps confirm service chiefs as 52 bills go through first reading
● Dum Dekor’s bill on Niger Delta Institute of Technology scales round one

The Chief of Defense Staff as well as the Service Chiefs of the Army, the Air force and the Navy nominated by President Bola Tinubu have been cleared by the House of Representatives.
They are Major General Christopher Musa; Major General Taoreed .A. Lagbaja; Air Vice Marshall Hassan Abubakar; and Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla.
The House confirmed theìr appointments Wednesday, after it received the report of its Ad-Hoc Committee on the screening of the nominees.
Recall that the Senate had earlier screened and cleared the Service Chiefs.
In a related development, 52 lawmakers have tabled bills on the floor of the House.
Among lawmakers who have raised new bills on the floor for consideration by the House is Dumnamene Dekor representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency.
Dekor’s bill is concerned with the establishment of a Niger Delta Institute of Technology. It has gone through first reading.
