Oil Exploration: Ogonis Express Confidence In Tinubu’s Handling of Issues

MOSOP acknowledges Tinubu’s resolve to solve the Ogoni issue through dialogue

The Ogoni nation has expressed confidence in the ongoing efforts of the Tinubu administration to re-start the exploration of oil and gas in their environment through meaningful dialogue.

President of the Movement of the Survival of the Ogoni People, MOSOP, Fegalo Nsuke said on Arise Television Sunday afternoon that MOSOP is collaborating with the Federal authorities and the Ogoni people in order to find lasting solutions that would be mutually beneficial.

“Leadership is about solving problems”, Female Nsuke said on live television, ” The beauty of what is going is, it is a dialogue.”

According to the MOSOP President, “We don’t have the Abacha approach. Abacha was killing Ogoni people. We have a government that is talking. ”

He said “Ogoni interest is being discussed” under the watch of President Bola Tinubu, saying the protection that Ogonis should talk about right now is not the type that protects the environment alone, but the kind that encourages mutual benefits on all sides.

The MOSOP President Acknowledged that the Tinubu administration has sufficiently demonstrated goodwill in the way it is relating to the Ogoni situation.

He hinted that roads are being built in the area, the remediation of the environment under Hyprep being implemented , a university put in place while an industrial park is being conceived.

Nsuke projected that given developments in Ogoni land, at least 500, 000 jobs are likely to be created in the Ogoni area alone.

Recall that the Federal Government has credited the Rivers State Government under the able leadership of Governor Siminalayi Fubara has been instrumental to resolution of differences between the authorities in Abuja and the Ogonis.

The National Security Adviser while in the, State had conveyed President Tinubu’s satisfaction with Fubara’s handling of issues.

Already, Fubara’s new party, the APC, has said it has endorsed the governor for a second tenure in office.
