… All for the love of mum

Dr Peter Odili, former Governor of Rivers State who lost his brother, Fidel, may be somewhere in Abuja, but in Port Harcourt, Dr Dakuku Peterside has taken over a road named after him.

A massive traffic jam, as we report, has been reported along Peter Odili Road in Trans Amadi, where a reception in honour of Madam Sogba Peterside is taking place.

Guests invited to the birthday bash of the mother of Dr Dakuku Peterside, former Director General of NIMASA,  our Correspondent reports,  are finding it difficult to  secure parking lots even as darkness gradually approaches.

Outside Hago Heights,  venue of the birthday celebrations, traffic has been reduced to a crawling pace on both sides of the road.

Not even the rains which came as showers of blessing could stop the crowds which turned out.

Some friends of the former gubernatorial candidate of the APC, among them Chief Ogbonna Nwuke, Spokesman of the APC and fomer member of the House of Representatives, have left for home as a result of difficulties  experienced right now in finding parking spaces.

Our Correspondent reports that the reception hall has been filled to the brim, with movers and shakers in government and industry who have come from all over the country, to fecilitate with  Madam Sogba Peterside and her son, Dakuku, who is seen in some circles as a turnaround expert.

Madam Peterside, born in 1951, has just turned 70. She is reportedly the cynosure of all eyes.

A Special thanksgiving service was held in honour of the educationist and school proprietor at the St. Michael ‘s Anglican Church, Rumumasi earlier today.

At Hago Heights,  venue of the birthday bash, speeches are being delivered by distinguished Nigerians and friends of the family,  with invitees treated to mouth-watering African and continental  cuisines, accompanied by exquisite drinks that money can buy.

The atmosphere is convivial and our Correspindent says there is so much excitement and fun
