The Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal has stepped down for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Tambuwal took the stage before voting was to commence to announce that he has made up his mind to step aside.
He urged his supporters to vote for Alhaji Atiku, saying his action was taken in the interest of his people.
Meanwhile, the voting arena has been cleared of unwanted persons who have taken over the space where delegates are expected to line up and exercise their franchise.
Before, Tambuwal emerged to announce his withdrawal from the race, the venue of the primaries have become increasingly rowdy.
