Wike orders contractor back to site within 24 hours

The Rivers State Government has ordered an Indigenous firm handling the construction of a vital access r I ad in Abua/Odual Local Government Area to return to site at once.
Governor Nyesom Wike gave the order Friday while flagging off work on the <span;>Ekagho- Ogboloma -Adada Link Road .
He wondered why Lubrik Construction Company (LCC) has failed two months after receiving payment to mobilise to site to start work on the construction of the 8.168 kilometres Abua-Emoh-Iyak-Ighom; Emoh/Egbolom access road.
Ordering the State Commissioner for Works to ensure that Lubrik moves to site, Wike frowned at the lacklustre attitude of some contractors, saying unwarranted delays associated with their work on site could result in project abandonment.

Meanwhile, Governor Wike has assured the people of Rivers State that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Sir Siminialayi Fubara will consolidate on the achievements of his administration.
Urging the people to vote for Siminalayi Fubara , his deputy, Professor Ngozi Odu and other candidates of the party, the Governor hinted that the pro-people policies initiated by his administration could be frustrated if those who don’t mean well for the State are voted into power.

The Governor disclosed that the PDP governorship candidate and his deputy have been accompanying him to the flag off projects so they could have a complete grasp of what is happening in the field and continue from where he stops.
The Governor emphasized that candidates of the PDP were eminently qualified and called on the people to vote for them in the 2023 general elections.
At the appropriate time, he said, the people would be notified by their leaders on the choice of the presidential candidate to vote for next month.
He expressed happiness that his administration has become the first to open up the Odual axis of the Abua/Odual Local Government Area since the creation of the State.
Wike regretted that politicians had merely visited the area in the past to solicit for votes only to abandon the people after elections have been won.
He said he has decided to break the jinx by fulfilling his promise to provide the people with basic infrastructure such as good road network that will in turn boost socioeconomic activities in the area.
Governor Wike appreciated the pressure mounted on his administration by political leaders of Abua/ Odual in the PDP, saying their insistence was clear evidence of the democratic dividends that they have attracted to the area.

He assured that the remaining 12 kilometre stretch road which connects Ogboloma community to Emago-Kugbo will be built by his successor.
