Eze Unwittingly ‘Lets The Cat Out Of The Bag’ On Amaechi’s Next Move

● Reveals Amaechi might migrate to another party

Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, Rotimi Amaechi’s acclaimed spokesman reveals that the former Minister of Transportation is likely to change party.

Indications that the former Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi may eventually “change party” has come to the surface.

Spokesman for the former Minister, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze dropped the hint in a recent statement circulated to the media.

He said Amaechi who is “a great leader of the party in the South South” would not give in quite easily “until such a time it becomes imperative for him to change party.”

What is evident from Eze’s perspective is that a struggle for power in the APC in Rivers State involving Amaechi and other major players is going on.

It has been fought for years without end and there are no signs that the combatants who are busy challenging Amaechi’s leadership of the APC in Rivers and the South South will ever give up.

Somehow, Tony Okocha, a former Chief of Staff to Amaechi has emerged from the shadows.

He has given the fight to upstage Amaechi a strong shot. Okocha arrived the other day in Abuja to counter a request put before the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje by Tonye Cole and other Rivers leaders.

Okocha urged Ganduje and the party to deal with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike on the issue of appointments.

“A titanic battle is being fought in Rivers State and in the South South” a source told the Telegraph, “as a result of the scramble for power among eligible politicians who are indicating interest to pilot the affairs of the APC.”

EX Governor Nyesom Wike… his membership of Tinubu’s administration is presently giving Amaechi  and Tinubu supporters a lot of sleepless nights.

Although Amaechi’s intention to leave the APC is not yet on the street, Chukwuemeka has managed to let the cat out of the bag through his statement.

It is as if history is about to repeat. Amaechi as governor left the PDP with some of his supporters when it became clear during the reign of President Goodluck Jonathan that there were subterranean moves to handover the party structure in Rivers State to Wike.

Again, the fear that Wike may be getting in the way, given his closeness to President Bola Tinubu has gripped the Amaechi camp.

Wike, vehemently opposed to the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, had thrown his weight behind Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

An insider said, “Amaechi is not currently comfortable within the APC. On one hand is Tinubu. The word is already out on the street that Amaechi did not support him.

“Tinubu is the leader of the party by virtue of his position and as you can see things are changing within the party right from the National Secretariat.

“Wike’s coming has further complicated things on the other hand. There are people within the party who want Wike. They see him as an election winner and a magician and they want him to take over control of Rivers State from Amaechi.

“Given what is playing out,  Amaechi may not tarry too long in the APC. I  think that for him all options are on the table.”

Eze who is fighting everywhere said those inferring that Amaechi fought Tinubu are telling lies from the pit of hell.

Amaechi’s spokesman is worried that Tony Okocha is receiving attention as a major player in the APC.

“I will counsel Nigerians, particularly, you Journalists to disregard any statement about Rivers State APC from Tony Okocha and his likes”, Eze noted.

“Amaechi is not only a respected member of APC but a great leader of the party in the South-South region until such a time it becomes imperative for him to change party.

Rotimi Amaechi: Eze  Chukwuemeka Eze defends his stake in the APC but talks about a time when it might become imperative for him to change party.

“And let me reiterate that  Wike, Okocha or any of their misguided cohorts can not and will not be in a position to remove Amaechi from APC both as the leader of the party in the region.”

Only time will tell, but for now Eze has witting or unwittingly disclosed that Rotimi Amaechi might eventually contemplate leaving the APC.
