As more Nigerians hail the film, “A Tribe Called Judah” which has within weeks of its official release grossed a billion naira, a former Vice President and Frontline politician, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has joined in congratulating Funke Akindele for coming up with a sensational masterpiece that has smashed the glass ceiling.
The former Vice president took to his official X handle at the weekend to acknowledge the strident strides of Nollywood and Akindele, the movie icon, for shattering box office records.
Atiku who has repeatedly vied to be the president of Nigeria without any breakthrough right from the era of Olu Obasanjo wrote, “I extend my heartiest congratulations to @funkeakindele for the phenomenal success of “A Tribe Called Judah”.
“This film has not only shat-tered box office records by beco-ming the first Nigerian movie to earn 1 billion naira in domestic theatres, but it also stands as a beacon of cultural pride and the unyielding spirit of Nollywood”, Atiku said of the movie.
