Amaechi Set To Rock N’ Roll

A former Minister of Transportation and one-time Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi will today, Saturday 31st May, 2025 mark his 60th birthday in Abuja

A number of activities, according to the organisers of the event, have been lined out to celebrate Amaechi at two different venues in the federal capital.

They include a birthday lecture entitled, “Weaponisation Of Poverty As  A Means Of Underdevelopment: A Case Study Of Nigeria”.

The lecture expected to attract scholars, politicians, opinion leaders, captains of industry and other professionals will take place at 10am at the Kwali Ladi Hall of the Continental Hotel, formerly known as Sheraton Hotel.

The birthday bash later in the evening, also expected to attract the who is who in the country, will take place at 7pm at the Transcorp Hilton.

Amaechi, obviously at the centre of the political opposition that is challenging President Bola Tinubu’s second tenure bid, turned 60 years on May 27.

One insider told the Port Harcourt Telegraph whose publisher received an invitation to grace the occasion, “We expect that notable Nigerians will turn out to celebrate Amaechi.

“The lecture which captures the state of frustration that ordinary Nigerians face in Tinubu’s Nigeria will most certainly resonate among the people and the press.

“For opposition politicians, this will be one occasion to come together; one opportunity to turn on the heat on the ruling party; and a unique opportunity to openly express solidarity with one of their own.”
