Atiku Abubakar: Don’t Blame Adamawa For What Will Happen
By PHC Telegraph

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who stood as the presidential candidate of the PDP in the last election has warned there would be unpleasant consequences in Adamawa State if the outcome of the election is manipulated.
Atiku said in a statement issued Sunday that the Adamawa people would not be held liable for what is likely to happen.
He vowed that the people of the State will not allow themselves to be cheated three times in a row by anyone.
The former Vice President accused INEC of nursing a premeditated plan to deliver Adamawa State to the APC.
He observed that those behind the move to rob the Adamawa people should get ready to bear the brunt for their actions.
Atiku urged the authorities in Abuja to ensure that those found complicit are visited by the full weight of the law.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has invited the Resident Electoral Commissioner and the Returning officer in Adamawa State to appear before it in Abuja.
The invitation is coming on the trail of an uproar generated early Sunday by the declaration of the APC governorship candidate, Senator Aisha Dahiru as the winner of the election held in the State.
INEC which announced that it was placing the outcome of the governorship election on hold stated emphatically that the declaration made earlier by the Resident Electoral Commissioner was null and void.

The Commission said the Resident Electoral Commissioner had usurped the function of the Returning Officer whose mandate it is to declare collated results.
The implication of INEC’s stance on the matter is that the collation process is yet to run its full course.
Reports say that collation was expected to resume at 11.00am Sunday morning after all the parties agreed the night before to call it a day.
But the Resident Electoral Commissioner returned at about 9.00am to announce Senator Dahiru as the winner of the election.
No one is sure why the REC accompanied by the Commissioner of Police and the Head of the DSS in the State chose to announce the result.
However, after the March 18th election, certain persons had surrounded the collation centre in Yola, saying they did not want a woman to serve as their governor.

Governor Fintri who has called for calm is urging President Muhammadu Buhari to speak up on the matter.
He described the action of the INEC Commissioner as provocative and illegal, saying the REC had no right to declare the election results under the law.
There has been no reaction either from the President or any response for that matter from spokesmen within the Presidency.
