Burnt because of Christ

A Reverend gentleman, Father Isaac Achi of the Catholic Church in Kafin Koro, Niger State, North Central Nigeria, has become the latest victim of religious  persecution.

Although the identity of his killer is not yet known, the officiating priest at the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, paid the supreme price early Sunday morning in defense of his undying faith.

According to reports from that part of the country, he was fatally shot and killed by unknown persons.

Thereafter, his mortal remain was set on fire by his attackers in a country where religious intolerance is growing by the day.

His assistant, Fr Colins Omeh was however lucky. He escaped with gunshot wounds.

Rev. Fr Isaac Achi was a Senior Priest of the Catholic Diocese of Minna. He was also Parish Priest of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Dean of Kafin Koro Deanery.

Of recent, members of the priesthood have turned targets of killers and kidnappers in Nigeria.

In some parts of the country, Christians live under constant threat of being killed.

Thus far, there has been no reaction either from the Federal Government or its State counterpart.
