Wike billed to flag off Port Harcourt Ring Road project

●  Fubara poised to make history;
●  As Rivers people prepare to storm venue to hear ex-governor Wike speak

Governor Siminalayi Fubara seen speaking at the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding at Government House, Port Harcourt.

 

The construction of the 50 – kilometre long Port Harcourt Ring Road conceived by the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara will be flagged off.

The flag off ceremony is expected to be performed at the UTC Junction by the ex-governor of Rivers State,  Chief Nyesom Wike.

Last week, the State Government signed an MoU with Julius Berger Nigeria PLC  and speedily released 77% of the contract sum to enable the company get down to work.

Speaking at the event, Governor Fubara stressed the importance of the road project to the government and people of the State and urged chiefs and youths to lend their cooperation to the contractor.

He also asked the contractor who has a track record of quality performance to deliver the project within time.

The project which has a three-year construction period would be delivered before the expiration of Fubara’s four-year tenure in office.

Governor Fubara is poised to make history as he embarks on the project.

It is the largest single road project to be constructed by any State Government in the country.

Governments before his own have been unable to execute the ring road plan that has been on the drawing board.

But Fubara and  his team have found the money and the political will to embark on the project.

Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, expected to flag off the construction of the new Port Harcourt Ring Road Project.

Former Governor Wike who is being tipped as a federal Minister by the Tinubu government has since handing over power taken backstage in State matters as Fubara Consolidates.

Today,  most Rivers people who have not seen Wike in public for a while will be glad to listen to the one that provided strong and effective leadership, recorded a truck load of great achievements while in office and midwived the victory of the Fubara administration.

As Rivers people prepare for a ring road which will cut across six local government areas and create unlimited access in future, Wike who has the honour of flagging it off will go down in history as the first out-gone Rivers Governor to produce a successor.
