Enugu Bye Election: INEC Denies Man Beaten Blue And Black By Angry Voters

By PHC Telegraph

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,  has denied claims that a man who was allegedly seen with pre-filled result sheet in Enugu State is its staff.

Although the Commission did not provide further details which may shed more light on how he came to be in possession of the said document, it however denied that the man in question is an employee.

INEC alluded that the report pertaining to the man’s identity which had linked him to the commission were fake and urged members of the public to disregard it.

The statement read, “Our attention has been drawn to some fake narratives circulating on the social media that a certain employee of the Commission was caught in Enugu State with a pre-filled result sheet for the rerun election held today.

“However, the said individual is not an employee of INEC. He is unknown to the Commission. The public should disregard the report.”

Bye elections were held in parts of the country on Saturday to enable political parties field candidates in constituencies which for some reasons do not have elected representatives.
